The Merrett Life in England

William & Mary Ann Merrett
Dear descendants, the following information and history is of the days prior to emigrating to Australia
William was born at Brinkworth, England, on February 4th, 1837, and had a good education. His father was Samuel Heath Merrett and his profession was a yeoman.
NOTE: The birth certificate shows father as just "Samuel Heath", without the MERRETT. You are welcome to interpret this any way you feel like it!
Maybe "Mr" Merrett died early & his wife remarried Mr Heath.
Maybe William was adopted?
Maybe Samuel Heath was a Merrett but didn't feel he needed to write that down?

On October 16th, 1856, William married Mary Ann Painter at Wiltshire, England, in the Malmesbury Chapel, Horsefair, of the Independent denomination where the officiating minister was the Revd Richard Whitmore.
